Four residents of Washington, specifically South 12th Avenue, voiced their opinions against a special assessment to pay for work to redo the street. Mayor Sandra Johnson explained that South 12th is not the only applicable location for a special assessment and that the council is looking to adopt a more universal policy.
No action was taken at last night’s City Council meeting. The resolution approving the special assessment policy has been moved to a workshop to allow council members time to work on the policy. The workshop session will be held on April 10th at the new library and is open to the public.
