The Washington Community School District has a new logo. High School principal Eric Buccholz says it is one that was designed by High School senior Sammy Ellingson.  Students voted for their favorite, and 62 percent chose Ellingson’s design.  Buchholz says the logo contest was prompted by School Superintendent Mike Jorgensen who offered one-hundred dollars to the person with the winning design.

A former Washington Demon design closely resembled a logo for DePaul University, and the district was notified of the violation.  The new logo is getting a few professional design tweaks before the final product is formed.
