In early November Iowa Mennonite School won $50,000 through a nationwide contest, school officials are now looking at where that money will go. Director of Development Larry Swartzendruber says with the help of IMS’s supporters they were able to secure a spot in the top 8 and a check for $50,000 in the U.S. Cellular Calling All Communities campaign.
Swartzendruber says $40,000 of it will go toward upgrading the schools technology and the rest will go to student aid, which helps with tuition.
He shares that around $80,000 to $95,000 is set aside for student aid annually, to help families afford tuition at the private school. He adds a committee has been formed to decide what kind of improvements they’d be making to the schools technology.
