The Lone Tree boy’s basketball team has posted an impressive 9-0 record in the first half of the season.

The Lions not only beat teams in Iowa, but went to Illinois and beat a couple of teams as well, and they are second in the entire state of Iowa in points scored with 675, while shooting 42.2 percent from the field.

Lone Tree is led by Bryan Forbes who has 217 points on the year, ranked seventh in the state of Iowa for points scored.

The Lions have defeated every conference opponent by double digit figures, and many of them doubled their score.

But even with all of the success, Lone Tree head coach Tom Squires says there are some things to work on.

“There’s some little things that we definitely have to get better at, our half court offense, we’re not screening very well right now, and in our man-to-man offense we have guys who are screening spots instead of bodies,” Squires said. “There’s some little thing that have to get better, our rotations have to get better on the defensive end.”

Lone Tree plays WACO next Friday at WACO to kick off the second half of the season.
