Highland and WMU play tonight in Monday a night headline game.

The Huskies dropped a game to WACO last week, that head coach Jodi Fink said was maybe one of his team’s worst games.

They are still 4-2, with 265 points, and shooting 33.6 percent from the floor, but only making 35 percent of their shots from the free throw line.

They are led by Emily Wieland who has 58 points on the year, followed by Kelsey Doreo with 48. Samantha Sutton is the leader for the team in defensive stats.

Fink said tonight’s key is to stay composed and worry about their game.

“For us it’s our composure and discipline, we have to just sit there and worry about our game, and not worry about what the other team is doing against us,” Fink said. “We’ve been kind of shooting ourselves in the foot here lately, and that’s the big part, if you want to go into the game itself, rebounding, taking care of the ball those are the two main points there, but if we’re disciplined and keep our composure that takes care of both of those things there as well.”

WMU is 4-3 with 319 points, and shooting 36.2 percent from the floor and 60.8 percent from the charity stripe.

Cassie Kingery is the leading scorer with 108 points on the year, while Alicia Escher is second with 61 points, as well as 54 rebounds.

WMU head coach Mich Wachs said tonight is about ball security.

“I think we discovered one our keys is we have to rebound better, and I think we did that really well on Friday,” Wachs said. “They’re just a good team, and they’re well coached and their kids always play really hard, and we just need to take care of the ball. We’re making strides in the direction that we want too and need too, but I think of the keys is not letting them take second shots, and then I think we’ll be in good position.”

WMU and Highland play tonight at WMU at 6:00.
