The Washington City Council has now approved a list of five goals they hope to give attention to over the next couple years. The council finished another session this week with the University of Iowa Public Institute of Affairs Director Jeff Shott who has assisted in the planning. In their new goals, they plan to review the condition of the city’s residential housing, develop a new industrial park, move ahead with developing a Wellness Park, review fees for electrical and plumbing permits, and expand their use of tax increment financing to develop downtown.
