Those planning on taking U.S. 218 Tuesday morning may need to allow themselves more time to reach their destination. According to the Iowa Department of Transportation exit 45 in Mt Pleasant will be closed to 4 a.m. until 1 p.m., weather permitting.

This is due to a pavement patching project on the southbound U.S. 218 off ramp. While the ramp is closed, motorists are asked to continue to exit 42 to travel back to exit 45.

Drivers are reminded traffic fines are at least double in work zones.
