The Washington Demons will continue district play tonight when they play 4-1 Williamsburg.

Washington put up 51 points against Keokuk last week without their leading rusher Kyle Roder, who is still out with injury.

Washington continues to put the ball on the ground with 777 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, while they have 447 yards through the air with three touchdowns.

The Raiders will keep it on the ground as well with 1461 yards and 21 touchdowns rushing, but can toss it over the top with seven touchdowns and 894 yards.

Head coach Randy Schrader says the one big key though is ball control, and scoring when they can.

“Going to be ball control for us, we’ve talked all along that we are not built to come from big deficits, our kids just have to have good ball security, we have to play great defense and special teams, and score when we get the opportunity,” Schrader said. “It’s going to be a great night for football, good crisp autumn night, and there is a lot riding on the line early in the season for two great football teams, and I think if everyone comes out and does their job it’s going to be okay.”
