The Heritage Area Agency on Aging has named a Wellman resident an Outstanding Volunteer.

Leroy Powell received the Outstanding Senior Volunteer award at the annual Meeting and Recognition Event held at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center on the Kirkwood Community College campus in Cedar Rapids in late May.

Powell says that now that he’s retired he finds volunteer work a rewarding way to spend his free time. For more on Powell and his service to the community listen to today’s In Touch with South East Iowa.
