The Mid-Prairie baseball team travels to Wilton tonight for a single game. The Golden-Hawks are 6-9, while Wilton is 10-4.
Wilton is led by shutdown pitching, with the team’s combined ERA of 2.15 and holding opponents to a .129 batting average, and pitching 48 walks to 122 strikeouts. They are hitting just under .300 as a team, but they do have an on base percentage close to .450, helping them score over 100 runs for the season.
Mid- Prairie’s ERA has bloated out to a 5.48 with opponents hitting almost .200. The Golden- Hawks are also almost even in strikeouts to walks as they have 61 walks on the season to 70 strikeouts. They are hitting .262 as a club and have a .422 on base percentage, but have just 79 runs on the year.
Mid-Prairie has split their last four, splitting a doubleheader with West Liberty, dropping a 14-0 game to 4A Davenport North and then beating IMS 10-0 on Saturday.
