The Community Foundation of Louisa County has pledged $50,000 to the Youth Center project at the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction. The Center is part of an expansion plan submitted by the Louisa County Fair Board. The building will include larger areas for 4-H activities and exhibits, talent shows, dances, and large functions.

The commitment was made as a flood recovery grant and is funded through Embrace Iowa, an organization that collected donations in response to the 2008 flooding in Louisa County.

The total budget for the project is $500,000 which includes an in-kind contribution from the City of Columbus Junction of $100,000 stemming from levy development and construction of a new water treatment facility that will benefit the fairgrounds.
