Representatives from Main Street Washington broke out the brooms yesterday afternoon to recognize the remodeling of a Washington business. Amy Vetter with Main Street Washington says their group called SWEEPs visited the storefront of McDonald’s to recognize the $850,000 investment owner Kevin O’Brien put into the remodel of the business. SWEEPs is Supporting Washington’s Economic Enhancement Project.

The American Legion Post 29 raised a new flag at the event.

The McDonald’s is also giving away $1500 as a way to support three local charities. Lending Hands Adult Day Services, The Washington Y and Washington Betterment Foundation will each receive $500.

O’Brien received a new broom with a Main Street Washington apron as well as a decal showing that the business was swept.
