An event to celebrate the right to read is being held at the Washington Public Library tonight.  Don Ruffenach with the Washington Public Library says this event is part of Banned Book Week and is a project sponsored by the American Library Association.  He says it promotes the awareness of books that have been challenged through the years to be accepted into libraries.

Ruffenach adds those that participate in this event are reading Ray Bradbury’s book Fahrenheit 451 which deals with books that have been banned.  A short film on Bradbury will follow a discussion of the book.

This reading and discussion will be held tonight from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Nicola-Stoufer room.
