The Iowa Department of Transportation will be working on U.S. Highway 218 in Washington County today.  Jeff Johnson with the DOT office in Mt. Pleasant says crews will be performing asphalt overlay work on the southbound lanes near Ainsworth, between U.S. 218 and Highway 92.

He says the southbound ramps at County Road G36 will be closed during the late morning and early afternoon hours while the work is being done.

If motorists need to access U.S. 218 this morning, Johnson says to use Highway 92 at Ainsworth.  He says the work should only last a few hours.
