This weekend has many opportunities over southeast Iowa to celebrate our country’s birthday with different fireworks displays.  Most communities in the area are celebrating tomorrow, however one celebration is tonight.  Kalona’s display starts at 9:00 at the Shiloh Amphitheater.

Sheriff Jerry Dunbar asks Washington County residents to stay safe by not taking unnecessary risks with illegal fireworks which is a simple misdemeanor in Iowa.  The list of other area fireworks displays are below:
