The Washington County Board of Supervisors met yesterday morning and during their meeting they approved a consideration for a contribution for the Geode Resource Conservation and Development group. Geode RC&D is non-profit entity that assists the people of southeast Iowa in protecting and developing the area’s economic, natural and social resources. Geode RC&D originally requested $5,000 a year for the next three years.
Supervisor Wes Rich mentioned he didn’t think the county could support that amount but suggested giving Geode RC&D $2,000 a year. The motion was passed unanimously. The Supervisors also established a bid letting date for five Secondary Roads Improvement Projects.
All bids for these projects are due by 9:00am on March 8th and the bids will be awarded during the regular meeting at 9:30 on March 8th.
