The Mid Prairie Board of Education met on Monday and discussed changes in three different board policies. Mid Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider says the policies are ones that deal with student fundraising, distribution of materials, and advertising and promotion. The student fund raising policy deals with when students can and can’t fundraise. He says the board was interested in reviewing that policy to see if they wanted to expand the policy to also include booster groups. Schneider says he thinks it’s a smart idea to review your policies every once and a while and see if you need to make any changes. The board also discussed the distribution of materials policy which refers to when outside groups ask to distribute flyers to students. The board discussed whether they should limit the amount of materials that could go home from outside sources. The advertising and promotion policy is also intertwined with the distribution of materials policy. Schneider says no decision has been made yet if any changes will be made to these policies.
