Washington County residents will vote for more than candidates on November 2nd. County Auditor Bill Fredrick says four public measures will also be on the ballot. Washington voters will decide whether to extend the gambling license of Riverside Casino and Golf Resort and to maintain the current 911 surcharge at $1.50 per month, or to reduce the surcharge by 50 cents. All Iowa voters will decide whether to establish a “dedicated trust fund for the purpose of protecting and enhancing water quality in natural areas” of Iowa and whether to hold a state constitutional convention, an option given to Iowans every ten years by the state constitution. More information regarding all November elections is available on Washington County’s website at co.washington.ia.us.
