A report filed by Washington’s City Engineer says an unused building in the city “needs to be secured … to not allow entry” due to unsanitary conditions and other factors that could lead to it officially being designated as unsafe. The report says the former Mills Feed building, originally located at 604 North 7th Avenue but moved earlier this year to 212 North Iowa Avenue, needs to be re-inspected by the city’s Building and Zoning Official in order to determine “if it is an unsafe building as defined by the dangerous building section of the city code.”  The report was requested earlier this month by Washington City Councilmen Mike Roth.  He says he didn’t support the transport of the building in February and the building has sat since, without improvement.
