Yesterday’s high at the fairgrounds was 88 degrees, and mixed with summer humidity, fairgoers were feeling the heat. Lori Bauer says the Y’s Men Food Stand went through a lot of water, ice cream and kid’s freezer pops.  Fair Board Vice President Don Lewis says despite yesterday’s warm weather, crowds remained big throughout the day.  He says there was also a good chance for precipitation last night, and yesterday’s main event, the 8 pm Gwen Sebastian Concert, was moved into the Big Show Barn to avoid another rain cancellation.  I spoke with Gwen Sebastian, and that interview will air today at 12:50 during the KCII Midday Magazine.  Today looks to be another scorcher as a heat advisory is in effect from Noon until 9 pm.  Heat index temperatures could reach more than 105 degrees.
