The Washington County Extension Office held a Day Camp for 39 kindergartners and first graders. The theme for the camp was “Bug Mania.” Campers learned about a variety of bugs, and the anatomy of a bug. Participants went on insect hunts, and made several different bugs including ones out of food. The Iowa State University attended the camp and provided live bugs. The Giant Hissing Cockroach was the camper’s favorite insect. For more information about the Washington County 4-H program, contact the Washington County Extension Office
