The Washington County Riverboat Foundation is doling out more than $750,000 through their competitive Grant program. Highland Community School District’s “Fit School Fit Community” program is receiving $25,000 from the foundation. Superintendent Chris Armstrong says the money will be used to purchase high end quality commercial exercise equipment in the already built fitness room. Armstrong says they plan on having the project finished before the new school year begins in August. He says further down the road the plan would be to open the fitness room up to community members.
