Service employees at the Washington School District have made some major concessions in light of an $800,000 funding shortfall from the state. Members of the SEIU Local 199 reached a contract agreement with the board that calls reduced overtime pay and insurance coverage. In return the district has signed a memorandum of understanding stating that they won’t force any staff reductions unless the state further reduces, cuts or fails to pay funds previously promised.
