A major winter storm is on its way to Iowa this week. This storm system will bring a wintery mix of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain to the region. Jason Marlow of the State Patrol says these storms can be dangerous, as we saw earlier this month. He says being prepared is important. Marlow says knowing your exact route, stops along the way, and letting people know the route you’re traveling is critical. Calling 511 to check on roadways and weather is an easy way to prepare, as well as checking online at iowaroadconditions.org.
