A Washington hotel owner says the city needs have something to attract tourists, before they can tax them. Gordon Olberding runs the Hawkeye Motel. He feels a proposed hotel tax, would cause his and other small businesses to suffer. Olberding points to statistics from the American Economics Group which indicates a two percent increase in hotel taxes, can result in a five percent drop in room sales. Olberding says that could cost him more than 10-thousand dollars.
