The head of Iowa’s Pork Industry Center says a person looking for the source of this year’s H1N1 influenza outbreak wouldn’t want to look in Mexico. Dr. Jim McKean says the genetic makeup of the virus indicates it may have originated in China. McKean says the virus was initially mislabeled “swine flu” because it displays characteristics of strains that effect both hogs and humans.
