Martin Luther King Junior Day is called a day of service, and one local event is meant to capture that concept. The Washington Chamber of Commerce has a special Alive After Five tonight at Hamakua Place.  The United Way is also helping to organize the event that includes a chance to write thank you notes to people in the community like firefighters and emergency responders.  Hamakua Place is on South Iowa Avenue.
