According to new numbers, unemployment dropped in Washington County during September. A report from the Labor Force and Occupational Analysis Bureau shows last month, Washington County’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.6% and during the same timeframe 200 residents gained employment.

Looking back to September 2011, the County had an unemployment rate of 4.4%, around 100 more unemployed than this September.

In addition, the number of people receiving Unemployment Insurance benefits dropped significantly from August and has been slowly declining since last year.
