Corn harvesting was the focus last week as the plant progresses ahead of past years. According to the Crop and Weather Report released by the USDA farmers focused on fields with weaker stalks or wind damage. 69% of corn has matured in southeast Iowa, compared to the five year average which is 25%. Corn harvesting in this part of Iowa is on track with the rest of the state at 10%, ahead of last year and the five year average.
