The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new deputy. Sheriff Allen Wittmer says Brandon Marquardt will start later this month. He replaces Michael Shelangoski, who resigned in January.

Marquardt is from Wapello and graduated from Western Illinois in 2009. Sheriff Wittmer says Marquardt will attend the Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston, IA in January.
