The Iowa State Patrol reports a two vehicle accident south of Iowa City yesterday caused 1 fatality and sent 2 to the hospital. Just after 7pm a Mack semi truck driven by 34 year old Brandon Bachman of Mount Pleasant was traveling northbound on Highway 218 near the Riverside Drive exit. The semi rear ended a Ford Taurus driven by 50 year old Kevin Nau of Mount Pleasant causing both vehicles to enter the ditch. The name of the fatality, a passenger in the Taurus, is being withheld. Kevin Nau and 38 year old Michele Nau were transported to University of Iowa Hospital with injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
