The Washington Community School Districts says it was forced to keep students out of the Junior High School today due to an Alliant Energy power malfunction. Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says the transformer that supplies all power to the building stopped working yesterday evening.  The transformer was repaired this morning, but Jorgensen says the power loss affected the buildings alarm and other systems which prevented the district from holding classes.  Jorgensen stresses that the equipment failure was related to Alliant property and unrelated to construction projects at the Junior High.  All other Washington School District buildings were open today and held normal classes.
