The effects of Iowa’s state budget shortfalls are expected to be felt by local governments. Riverside State Representative Larry Marek admits that funding from Des Moines is likely to be limited and urges local policy makers to respond appropriately. Marek got on the topic while responding to comments from Washington County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jim Miksch. Marek, and Fairfield State Senator Becky Schmitz spoke Saturday during the Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Briefing.
