The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team is 1-6 at the holiday break, but their head coach says historically the holiday break has been good to them. Mid-Prairie Head Coach Marc Pennington says they had some big turnarounds coming out the break in past seasons. In addition to practicing they go to a big scrimmage at Cedar Rapids Prairie which features several different schools and Pennington says they seem to really get a lot done at that scrimmage. The Golden Hawks also have a scrimmage on Thursday hosting Highland, English Valleys and Clear Creek Amana. Then the Golden Hawks will open the second part of the season hosting Clear Creek Amana.
