Grain Storage Advice from ISU Agronomist

The unusually cool, wet growing season this year has put soybean harvesting behind schedule, and increased the need for drying. Iowa State University Agronomist Palle Pederson says there is also frost damage being reported. Pederson says frost damaged beans should be stored in a cool bin for 45 to 60 days to dry down. He says grain dryers can be utilized as well, but beans should not get any hotter than 120 degrees farenheit.
