Each year, November is recognized throughout the country and right here in Iowa as National Adoption Month. According to Amy Juhnke with Iowa KidsNet, which trains and certifies Iowa’s foster and adoptive parents, the purpose is to celebrate the kids, families and professionals that make adoptions happen. Also in recognition of the month, she says judges, attorneys and child welfare professionals donated their time on Saturdays throughout the month to finalize as many adoptions as possible.
