Ways to Prevent Heat Exhaustion & Heat Stroke

In a week that saw highs break the 100 degree mark, heat exhaustion and heat stroke are real possibilities. Stay hydrated, that s the advice Eric Turner with Jet Physical Therapy is giving during these extremely hot days.
He adds that if you wait until you start to cramp or feel dizzy it’s already too late and your next step should be to seek shade and water, because this can lead to a heat stroke, which can be deadly.
In addition to water, a healthy diet that includes fruits and vegetables will also help. Sports drinks can be beneficial if consumed after an intensive work out, but not before or during.
