A Kalona Family has been named November Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award Winner. Keith and Linda Troyer who farm near Kalona were announced by Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey yesterday. Northey says the award recognized livestock producers that are good neighbors because livestock production is important to the community. Northey says not only do they have a good operation, but they do a lot to promote the turkey industry. The Troyer Family raises both pork and turkey as well as grows corn and soy beans on their farm. Northey will present the award to the Troyer family at their farm on Thursday November 4th.
