Yesterday morning KCII reported the Washington Junior High School was closed as a “precaution” due to mold. Mold was discovered in a storage area underneath the gym stage on Friday and cleaned Saturday, but as a precaution, the building was closed yesterday for inspection.  Superintendent Mike Jorgensen has informed KCII that the Junior High and all other school buildings will be open today.  The area underneath the gym’s stage requires further work, but has been closed and presents no danger to students or staff.
