KCII is being recognized by the Washington Tree Beautification Committee. WTBC Member Rick Wagenknecht presented the station with their Volunteer of the Year Award at last night’s city council meeting. He cited KCII’s ability to “get the word out” about his organization’s functions. He also points to instances where the station sought the committee out for “informative tree related topics to share with their listeners.” The Washington Tree Beautification Committee is involved in a variety of community based arbor initiatives including a yearly tree giveaway and pruning lessons.
