Purple martin populations are on the rise in southeast Iowa. A workshop on attracting Purple martins will be held Saturday morning, March 20th beginning at 9:15 at the CAM Iowa Clothing Center north of Kalona, one mile east of Highway 1. People interested in starting or re-establishing a Purple martin colony are encouraged to attend. Topics include what houses work best, placement and controlling predators. There is a two dollar registration fee which includes lunch.
