The issue of prevailing wages has again surfaced in the Iowa Legislature. The contentious issue came up last year, and Riverside Representative Larry Marek ended up being the deciding vote to defeat the measure in the House. Prevailing wage is typically defined as the wages paid in the largest city of each county to the majority of workers. Marek doubts the measure will pass this year either.
