Marek: HS Rail Project Down, but not Out

[1]State Rep. Larry Marek (D-Riverside) Stock PhotoA project that would link Iowa City and Chicago via a high speed rail line didn’t receive federal funding during a recent grant disbursement. However, a million dollars was released to conduct a planning study. Riverside State Representative Larry Marek says such a link would be a huge economic boom for the area. He expects that the planning study will put the rail link in a better position to receive funding during a future grant cycle.
