Motorists who drive through Iowa this Thanksgiving weekend can expect to see an increased police presence. Trooper Jason Marlow with Iowa State Patrol says the STEP enforcement focuses on the same traffic violations they normally look for, as well as more serious situations such as motorists who are impaired. A report from the Iowa Department of Transportation indicates that Thanksgiving has the highest number of fatal accidents compared with six other holiday weekends.
