Fairfield Senator Becky Schmitz says the legislature needs to shut down outdated programs that no longer work. She says a fiscally responsible budget should cut programs that are not needed while protecting things like student achievement, teacher quality, and health care. Schmitz says this will help give Iowa the biggest “bang for the buck”.
