WACO Yard Cleaning Fundraiser

October 30

Friday, October 30th, WACO Students will be helping to clean fall yard waste for area residents. This fundraiser is for the students to earn money for their spring trip to Europe. Cost is $20 for small yards and $30 for large yards. Riverside Costume Contest

October 30

Online voting is going on now for the City of Riverside Costume Contest. Best costume will be judged in five categories; ages three and under, four- to seven- year olds, eight- to 12- year olds, 13- to 15- year olds, and 16-18- year olds. Each entry will be published with the costume character alias and the real names of the winning contestants will be announced. Wayland Main Street Greet and Treat

October 30 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

You’re invited to the Main Street Greet and Treat in Wayland Friday, October 30th from 5-6:30p.m. Join the event in costume. More than 25 downtown business and groups are participating. You will start at the southwest corner of Central Park and move down a one way path to maintain social distancing. Along with trick-or-treating will be a pumpkin judging contest.

Kalona Farmers Market

The Kalona Farmers Market will be held in downtown Kalona every Saturday in September and October from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. Shoppers will be able to pick up locally made items such as jams, arts and crafts, handmade products, fresh produce, baked goods, and more. Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged for shoppers.

Washington Church of Christ Trunk or Treat

The Washington Church of Jesus Christ at 1202 S. Iowa Avenue is hosting a Trunk or Treat event October 31st from 3-5p.m. Activities include games, face art and fun. They will also serve walking tacos. You are asked to not wear a Halloween mask, but face masks are acceptable. Please social distance and dress for the weather.

Richmond Sons of AMVETS Squadron 107 is hosting a tenderloin basket takeout/drive thru meal Saturday, October 31st from 5-7:30p.m. at the AMVETS Post 107 in Richmond. Meal includes tenderloin sandwich, fries and dessert for $10. Trick-or-Treaters are also welcome.
