Hocus Pocus Trivia

The Washington Public Library is hosting a Hocus Pocus themed trivia night on Saturday, October 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. This event will be held via Zoom video call and is free for anyone to join. Participants are encouraged to wear their family friendly, spooky attire. Contact the Washington Library for a link to the video call.

Hillcrest Academy is hosting a Harvest Party on Saturday, October 24 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. All area 5th-8th graders are invited for games, food, a bonfire, and other activities to celebrate the harvest season. Girl Scouts Drive-Thru Informational Event

Girls Scouts in Washington County are hosting an informational drive-thru event on Saturday, October 24 from 10:30 a.m. till noon. This event will teach new and renewing Girl Scout members about the organization and how to get involved. The event will take place at the parking lot by Federation Bank in Washington. Families will receive goodie bags and be invited to a zoom video call to learn more about Girl Scouts.

Washington Drug Take Back Event

October 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Police Department and the US Drug Enforcement Administration are providing a drug take back event Saturday, October 24th from 10a.m until noon at the United Presbyterian Church Parking Lot, 209 E. Main Street in Washington. Only pills and patches will be accepted, no liquids, needles or sharps. This is a free and annonymous service.

Henry County Drug Take Back Event

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a drug take back event on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Individuals with unused prescription medications can dispose of them properly at this event. Multiple public service departments in Henry County will be designated as a collection location. Kalona Farmers Market

The Kalona Farmers Market will be held in downtown Kalona every Saturday in September and October from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. Shoppers will be able to pick up locally made items such as jams, arts and crafts, handmade products, fresh produce, baked goods, and more. Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged for shoppers.

Haunted Trails and Spooky Tales

It’s going to be a spooktacular time at English Rivers Outfitters Lodge Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th for their Haunted Trails and Spooky Tales event. Enjoy hot cocoa and chili available for purchase. The event begins at dusk and continues until 9p.m. each evening.
