Free Dental Treatment Clinic

There will be free dental treatment, including fillings, tooth extractions and cleanings for community members at Kalona Family Dental Friday, October 22nd from 8a.m. to 3p.m. Appointments are required, call to schedule, space is limited. This service is for adults only.

DIY Yarn Pumpkin Crafts

Monday, October 18th the Washington Public Library is hosting a teen DIY Yarn Pumpkin crafting class at 4p.m. Learn how to make a festive yarn pumpkin. Supplies will be provided by the library and the event is free for those in sixth through 12th grade.

Ainsworth Opera House and Community Center Southern Washington County Trivia Tour

The Ainsworth Opera House and Community Center will be hosting a Southern Washington County Afternoon Trivia Tour guided by Mike Zahs. The tour will take place October 17th from 1-6 p.m. with participants meeting at the opera house at 1, leaving for the tour at 1:30 and ending at the opera house at 6. Jeffeson County Fall Trail Driving Tour

October 17 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The annual Fall Trail Drive Through is Sunday, October 17th from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at Maasdam Barns then through the Fairfield Loop trail and Cedar View Trail. This route takes participants across the Highway 34 bypass bridge and Cedar Creek bridge. Washington County Conservation Halloween Hike

Washington County Conservation is hosting their annual Halloween Hike Saturday, October 16th. This years theme is Tall Tale Trail. Lake Darling All-State Park Tour

Lake Darling is hosting their leg of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ all-state park tour on Thursday, October 14th. The tour meets at 9:30a.m. in downtown Brighton next to Federation Bank and arrives at Lake Darling by 10a.m. This is a driving tour with a presentation by park staff and light refreshments.
