Color Me Happy Fun Walk/Run **Moved to Sunday, April 11

April 11 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Due to expected rain  Saturday, April 10th, The Highland Post Prom Committee’s “Color Me Happy Fun Walk/Run” has been moved to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11th at Railroad (purple) Park in Riverside. Onsite registration starts at 2 p.m. Cost is $20 per person or $50 max per family. After the walk/run, enjoy popcorn and slushies, plus music from a live band provided by the Riverside Area Community Club from 4 to 6 p.m.

Drive-Thru or Delivery Pork Loin Dinner

Columbus Junction Fire and Rescue hosts a pork loin dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 10th with drive-thru service at the fire station or delivery available by calling 319-728-2204, or 319-330-4868 or 319-931-7504. Free will donation for meal that includes marinated grilled pork loin sandwich, cheesy potatoes, baked beans. and homemade pie. Proceeds towards purchasing new bunker gear and air packs.

Pick-n-Paddle at Big Timber

Pick-n-Paddle at Big Timber Help Louisa County Conservation preserve wildlife and friendly rivers with “Pick-n-Paddle” Saturday, April 10, from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm at Big Timber Access near Muscatine. During the paddle you will be hunting for trash and enjoying nature’s surprises. Registration for the paddle is limited to 20 people. A limited number of canoes are available to borrow. Pancake Day in Kalona

The Kalona Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their annual “Pancake Day” from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10th. Free will donation  for standard breakfast of three pancakes, three sausages and two eggs. Ask for extras. Carry out only. Proceeds go to replace turnout gear.

YMCA of Washington County and Washington Chamber of Commerce host a free Job Fair from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 6th at the YMCA. Multiple companies will be in attendance with a variety of career opportunities from entry level to experienced, full-time, part-time, seasonal.  Free childcare available and every job seeker who attends will be entered into a $100 cash drawing! Letts FD Drive-Thru Fish & Chicken Fry

The Letts Fire Department is hosting a drive-thru “Fish and Chicken Fry” from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3rd.
