WMU sophomore golfer Ashlyn Bender has been named to the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Assocation All-State second team for Class 1A.

Bender posted a nine hole average of 47.27 this season with a low of 44. Her 18 hole average was 92 with a low of 87.

Bender was a team leader on a squad that posted a record of 20-14 this season with a conference record of 10-7. To be named to the All-State team, a golfer needed to be ranked within the top 20 of the final IAHSGCA rankings with the top 10 named to the first team and the second 10 becoming the second team. Bender was ranked 15th in Class 1A.
