Washington completed its season sweep of the Keokuk Chiefs on Friday, winning 12-0 and picking up momentum heading into the final few games of the regular season.

The Demons started slowly, with a single run coming across in the bottom of the first against the winless Chiefs. Washington then added three more runs in the second before finding their signature inning, eight runs in the third to push the game into run rule territory. Keokuk could do nothing to respond, with Leighton Salazar recording the final out in the circle to give the Demons the four inning victory.

Washington had 10 hits on the day. Colbie Greiner went 3-3 at the plate, with all of her hits being doubles. She picked up three RBIs. Makenzie Messer went 1-2 at the plate, but also had three RBIs. Keagyn Coleman also had a multi-RBI day, going 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Greiner had another great outing in the circle, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out eight of the 12 batters she faced, giving up just a single hit and a single walk before letting Salazar pitch the final out.

The Demons are now 17-14 on the season, and will face state-ranked 2A squad Louisa-Muscatine on Monday.
