The Washington baseball Demons will prepare for postseason play later this week with a couple of non-conference games, starting with the Pella Dutch tonight in a single contest you can hear on KCII.

Washington enters Monday’s contest at 9-13, and 9-6 in the Southeast Conference following their Friday night win over Keokuk. The Demons hit .282 as a team, with standouts including Ethan Peebler at .375, Blayze Richardson at .364, and Isaac Medrano and Mitchell Zieglowsky at .327 and .323 respectively. Washington has scored 136 runs on 147 hits including 22 singles, eight triples and three home runs. On the mound, Washington has a team ERA of 6.57. Peebler has seen the most innings this season, pitching 31.2 innings with an ERA of 4.20. Richardson and Ty Wright have also been frequent starters, with the former yet to allow an earned run this season. Medrano and Zieglowsky have made frequent appearances in relief.

Tonight’s opponent, the Pella Dutch, are 12-17 overall and 6-12 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Dutch feature a large roster that is batting .262 for the season with a .392 on-base percentage. Leaders at the plate include Teagan Hoekstra, a senior who bats at .374 and leads the team in RBIs with 23, and Grant Hauser, who bats at .348 with 17 RBIs. The Dutch have scored 179 runs on 202 hits, with 38 doubles, seven triples, and 11 home runs. On the mound, Colt Koeppen and Tate VanVark have appeared the most for the Dutch, with both over 30 innings on the campaign. The Dutch also frequently rotate their starters, with every pitcher to have appeared this season making at least one appearance in relief. Pella has a team ERA of 5.77.
